KERALA AYURVEDA REJUVENATION PACKAGES
Ayurveda delineates two levels of detoxification treatment. The first is what could be called preliminary detoxification, involving normalizing digestion and elimination as under palliation therapy. The second deeper level is removing the excess doshas from the body, what has been described as Ayurvedic purification therapy.
Ayurveda contains perhaps the most complex and specific science of detoxification in natural medicine. According to Ayurveda, we are all naturally healthy. Health is the natural state in which we keep our energies balanced through right interaction with our environment. Disease arises from outside contaminants that we get by opening ourselves up to harmful substances from the external world, through both the material substances that we take in through the body, and the impressions that we take in through the mind. Once these external factors are eliminated, our natural health and equilibrium will reassert itself of its own accord, unless it has already been severely damaged.
Generally, all toxins begin with Ama, defined in Ayurveda as the residue of poorly digested food that arises from eating heavy food like meat and dairy products, and oily, sweet, salty and sour food in general, such as abounds in the standard american diet. Ama has a sticky and heavy nature and lodges itself in the tissues where it ferments and causes poor tissue formation. Environmental toxins also weaken the digestive process and contribute to the formation of Ama, getting mixed along with its as indigestible substances.
